"I took this photo at Sham Shui Po market, one of the local marketplace for many lower-middle class families in Hong Kong. Always been fascinated by these light bulbs as well as the symbolic red lamps - you can see them in my "Marketplace" set:

"It was taken in El Mercat Central in Valencia, Spain, a very large and vibrant food market of over a thousand traders in stalls in a modernista style building dating from 1910-28. The market is in the heart of the old city and is surrounded by a market district of small streets with shops of all sorts of goods."

"The picture was taken on the Damnoen Saduak floating market in Thailand, located about 100 km south-west of Bangkok. It is a very touristic place, and one has to be careful not to be scammed. Most things sold there are souvenirs, drinks, food etc. for tourists, not for local people. I am sorry to say this, but there are other floating markets in the Bangkok area, which offer a more genuine market atmosphere and where you can see and meet a lot of local people. Despite these negative aspects I think it is well possible to take some interesting pictures on the Damnoen Saduak floating market."

"This photo was taken at the Central Market in Campo Grande / MS in Brazil. It's a nice place to shop regional produce, walk, eat and know the customs of the local population."

"I took this photo in the former Siamese capital Ayutthaya. It's allways great fun to go to a nightmarket in Thailand. Food is cheap and very good, because every vendor prepares only a few dishes he is highly specialized in"
