Rural African Market

"This photo was taken in a rural market of Senegal, near the border with Guines Bissau. Typically of rural African markets the goods are laid out on covers on the floor. Bartering is the name of the game.

I spent 15 minutes in this small market. I could not stop talking to the people and trying to take photos. My guide made me hurry as we had to leave. I love the colours of such markets."

Originally uploded by  Alan Shipley, (Horsham, UK.) , have a look at his wonderful photos at his flickr site.
